Paige Stoner won her second ACC gold medal of the weekend on Saturday

Neither the men’s nor the women’s team finished in the top 10 at this year’s ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, but two of Syracuse’s top runners summited the podium one final time.

Following Thursday night’s win in the 10k, senior Iliass Aouani won the men’s 5k with a time of 14:00.38. Senior Paige Stoner won the women’s 5k as well, following her own gold medal performance in the steeplechase the day before.

This was Stoner’s fifth and final individual ACC title for the Orange. The All-American now sets her sights on the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 5-8. Aouani captured his second and final conference title ahead of his own appearance at Nationals.

Senior Richard Floyd also reached the podium for the Orange on Saturday, winning bronze in the men’s 110m hurdles. Chevis Armstead, also a senior, finished seventh in the same event.

In other races of note, junior Joe Dragon placed ninth in the men’s 5k and sophomore Nathan Henderson finished 11th in the men’s 1500m. Junior Aidan Tooker was scratched from competition for the second straight day and his status for nationals is unclear.
